Based on interviews with 2300 individuals and 39 experts, the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) Jamaica 2021/2022 National Report revealed that majority of the TEA were women with 59%. Most entrepreneurs were confident in their capabilities of starting up a business especially the younger group of entrepreneurs. They showed more awareness of the opportunities available despite the challenges being faced in the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. It's no denying that Jamaican entrepreneurs are resilient and don’t let anything hold them back especially when the need to provide for their households is an everyday requirement for survival. However, experts believe that the need for improvement in the availability of financial support and service is evidently needed to foster the development of entrepreneurship in the economy.
