We cordially invite your submissions to our special session titled “Entrepreneurship and Well-Being” to be held at the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS) conference in Luxembourg, from July 22-25, 2025.
Entrepreneurial well-being has emerged as a key factor for the sustainability and resilience of SMEs and entrepreneurs. Practitioners and policymakers emphasize the importance of enhancing well-being for entrepreneurs and their teams to drive innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable growth. This special session seeks to deepen the understanding of the complex relationship between entrepreneurship and subjective well-being (SWB). It aims to advance our understanding of the factors influencing SWB among entrepreneurs and SME owners, how it evolves throughout the entrepreneurial journey, and the implications of SWB for venture success.
The session invites contributions on, but is not limited to, the following themes:
- Antecedents of SWB: What factors influence the well-being of entrepreneurs and owners of SMEs?
- Employment and SWB: Do subjective well-being (SWB), health, and stress levels differ across types of employment (e.g., employees versus decision-makers) and tasks performed? Do digitalization and Artificial Intelligence mitigate this relationship?
- Well-Being and Success: What is the connection between entrepreneurial well-being and venture outcomes?
- Entrepreneurship Phases: How does SWB evolve across the entrepreneurial journey, from starting a business to exit?
- Sectoral Heterogeneity: How does well-being differ across industries and sectors?
- Motivational Diversity: How do entrepreneurial goals and motivations shape well-being?
- Policy and Interventions: What strategies can be implemented to improve entrepreneurial well-being?
Please be aware that the attendance requires payment of the conference registration fee. Submissions are to be made through the ISQOLS conference official EasyChair application: https://www.isqols.org/2025. Abstracts should be no more than 300 words. Deadline: January 30, 2025.
